Tom Orzechowski, letterer of Savage Dragon, has been nominated for an Eisner Award for “Best Lettering”.

Adam Pruett (Savage Fincast Podcaster, and a comic book letterer himself) said it best when he recently posted the following on Erik Larsen’s Message board:

“It’s not exactly NEW news, but Savage Dragon’s own hand-lettering man of miracles Tom Orzechowski is up for an Eisner Award this year.

I urge anyone who is eligible to vote to go do just that and give Orz some support! http://eisnervote.com/

Prior to Savage Dragon, Tom lettered just about every X-Men comic you’ve ever read (especially those by Claremont), and gave us some of the most recognizable designs in the industry. You know the Wolverine logo? That’s Tom’s. The Spawn logo? Tom’s. The Appleseed logo? Tom’s again.”
