Sindiecate’s Tribute to Savage Dragon! (better late than never edition)

The Sindiecate did a tribute to Savage Dragon back around July 13th-ish. Sadly, I was in the midst of a move so I didn’t have time to work this up into a post. Since then they retired the concept. That’s a real bummer because it was a terrific idea! Top notch creators paying tribute to quality comics that maybe fell outside the mainstream radar. Hey, if that doesn’t describe Savage Dragon I don’t know what does!! Anyway, in addition to these quality pieces there’s some fond nostalgia shared by Jorge Munoz that any fin fan can relate to.  Be sure to check out the entire site. It’s loaded with awesome work by awesome artists for awesome books you really SHOULD be reading.

Supreme #65 Cover Inks – SuperPatriot Eats a Knuckle Sammich!

Cory Hamscher shared the inks for the cover to Supreme #65 via his Facebook today! Looks like Super Patriot is getting a knuckle sammich buffet courtesy of Supreme himself!!

Cory says: Not sure if this will be a variant cover or used as the second printing cover if #65 sells out like the previous two issues. Anyways, here’s my cover for Supreme #65, colors imminent…

Awesome stuff!! Naturally we’ll post the colored version as soon as we get our hands on it!

So it’s Friday. Just thought I’d throw some awesome images your way. Have you been checking out Cory Walker’s (Invincible, Science Dog) awesome sketch blog? If not you should, Dragon Fans! It’s a recent release too, so it should be easy to find at your local comic shop, in digital version, at amazon, from a trust worthy looking hobo..whatever.

 

 

Supreme #64 Cover Inks and Color!!!

And here we have the inks and colors to Supreme #64′s alternate cover. Lookin’ MIGHTY fine if I do say so myself! Cory Hamscher is doing an amazing job on everything we’ve seen so far. Ross Hughes added the gorgeous color. From the looks of this guy he seems to be classic (Liefield) Supreme!! But heck.. that’s just speculation. Anyway, enjoy!

Is this the cover to Savage Dragon #182 ? Whatever it is, This IS the cover to Savage Dragon #182 (confirmed by Erik ..thanks, Craig!). ANYTIME Overlord shows up things are about to heat up. We don’t know at this time who is wearing the Overlord armor but from the looks of it he’s ready to dish out a heaping helping of beat down for Malcolm and Angel!! UPDATE: Erik posted the finished color version too!

Andrew Huerta’s Savage Dragon & Fin Addicts Art Group

Andrew has a portfolio of stunning work available on his deviant art site here. (great for Image Comic fans in general! Especially fans of Invincible.)

In addition, I’d like to take this time to address another Savage Dragon fan who is doing his part to get the word out. Mark Welser (his personal deviant site here) founded the Fin Addicts Art Group on deviant art. Right now it’s got 53+ contributing members. From time to time we’d like to spotlight an image that catches our eye, but you should also stop by and check out some of the excellent work Dragon fans have done in homage to our favorite fin head.

Dragon Center Stage in Madman 20th Anniversary Monster Pinup!

Savage Dragon stands front and center in this monster sized pinup for Madman 20th Anniversary Monster book. Designed to showcase some of the biggest stars in indie comics it’s only natural to see our favorite fin head in the mix.

Artist Michel Fiffe says:

Here’s a pin-up I penciled for the upcoming Madman 20th Anniversary Monster, inked by Michael Allred himself! It was a gas to do, but whittling it down to this list of characters was the tough part. Our pal Dragon made an appearance, natch.
